Unknown Movies and files showing up in my library

Hey Guys

just got home from work and noticed I have 2720 recently added Movies/files added to my library. I am unable to view the files as they are not on my HDD. How could this have happened?

I checked the file info and it leads to my transcode folder but there is nothing in the folder. the file looks like this F being my drive (F:\Transcoded\plex-transcode-5X4673014532-9bda6d9f-a94d-4864-bc25-4f9d1575a24b\media-00265.ts)

  • nobody has used my pc or network since myself last night. (I did add a new tv episode last night)
  • WiFi network is secure
  • network sharing was turned off

I did realise that I had no Pin setup on my user in my plex browser so I set a pin (Could that be the reason?)

Cheers

Apparently, you moved your Plex transcoder temporary folder to F:\Transcoded
If drive F: is also a place where you store movies, you must move them into a subfolder and only point your Plex movie library to this subfolder. Otherwise Plex will try to ‘match’ the small video chunks the transcoder produces.

‘edit’ your movie library,
go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab
in there, are you pointing this library to just F: and not to e.g. F:\Movies ?

Ah yes I did change my transcoder folder to the drive I keep my movies.

And I am pointing my movies to just F: .

That makes sense.

Thanks for sharing that info OttoKerner!!
