Unmatch Not Always in Menu

Hello,

This is annoying.

Unmatch is not always in the three dot menu.

Is there a way to make it always be there. Sometimes I have to hit match or analyze, sometimes several times to get it to appear.

Unmatch is only available when an item has been ‘matched’ before.
It is a sign for you that this item is not matched and that you may have to verify its file name (or in the case of a tv series the folder structure as well).

You should always try and solve these issues by sticking closer to the naming guides.
‘Fix Match’ should always be a kind of ‘Last Resort’.

I just noticed this too. Seems odd. I uploaded some new videos to a library and many of them were mis-matched (not the fault of Plex, these aren’t videos from IMDB). If I click the EDIT pencil icon and CANCEL, then try the three-dot icon again, Fix Match and Unmatch appear.

The oddity to me is - if they’re not matched I agree that I don’t need to Unmatch anything. However these are matched, just not by me. It would seem more logical to have Unmatch there if a match has occurred even if it was done by the software.

It should be there. If you are not seeing the option, then it’s a bug. If you can provide some more details on when this option isn’t available, we can look into it.

Here’s a screenie showing the options missing;

I uploaded about 10 new movies that are not in the normal IMDB or other databases. Four of them were agent “matched” by virtue of having similar titles to movies that existed in one of the databases (I assume). I went to Unmatch them only to find the option not in the list. I clicked the Edit icon and Cancel, then the Unmatch/Fix Match options were restored. This worked the same for all four mis-matched movies.

Let me know what you want me to run down here if you need more info and I’ll provide it.

Ah, I see what you mean. I’m able to reproduce. Yes, it does appear to be a bug with the Web app. I will let the team know. Thank you for the report.

Great. Thanks for the responsiveness.

Found some info. Turns out this is an old issue. It’s a limitation currently on the way clients retrieve information from PMS. The initial info it receives in order to generate the list of available items, does not contain the information to indicate if it is matched or not. Once you click on any thing that interacts with that item, then the information is retrieved. I do not have information on if/when this may be addressed.

Ok cool, thanks for getting back to me. It’s not really a big deal since it’s easily managed and I rarely upload non-IMDB stuff anyway. Thanks again.

Could you explain more? I’m having the same thing happen, and I’ve clicked and interacted and nope, no “fix match” or “unmatch” is appearing.

Then it is likely a different reason.

For instance you won’t get ‘Fix Match’ on single seasons or episodes of a tv show. These can only be fixed by going to the root of the issue: filenames and proper folder organsation for the whole show/series.

Yup, I know that. I’ve done it. To no avail.

Then please show us screenshots, your file names and perhaps some log files.
