I recently migrated my Plex server from Windows to unRaid. I have it up and running (for the most part) but it seems to stop working every night for some reason. I have to start the Plex docker each morning when I wake up. I’ve attached the logs from my Plex server if that helps any. Plex Media Server Logs_2024-03-25_07-10-31.zip (7.7 MB)
That’s not good. I did install a backup app based on the recommendation of a video I watched about setting up unRaid with Plex.
Is the only option to remove the app that is doing the backup? I don’t want Plex stopped every night. I’m thinking this will stop Plex even if someone is currently streaming.
I removed the backup app and its no longer shutting down Plex so that must’ve been it. I’ll have to figure out how I can backup Plex data without shutting it down. Thanks for the help.
you dont want to do that. its the reason your backup program is shutting it down. because that is safest. some backup program or scripts can delay the backup process until no one is streaming. alternatively, just do it in the early morning and whoever is on a 4am bender will just have to go to bed.
I’m okay with it shutting down if it starts back up once its finished. This thing was requiring me to manually start it back for some reason. I’m sure there’s a workaround and I’ll figure it out eventually.
whatever the backup program is just needs to be configured correctly. whether thats adding something to a script or checking a box. not sure what program you are using. but most all of them turn everything back on once they are done. pretty fundamental aspect to a backuptool.
