Unstable Plex on a Synology nas, any new ideas ?

Synology DS 916+ 8 GB DSM 6.0.3-8754 update 6
Plex version 1.11.0.4666

After many nas restarts and Plex stop/start on this server, the Plex program eventually reverts to one of the “unable to load libraries” messages or just plain fails to start up on the nas, unless a nas reboot is completed.
Only used for personal photos and short video clips with two android phones uploading content to the nas via Plex backup,
both crashing lately using Plex camera backup, I suspect due to the unstable server side of Plex.

I am aware of :
"Please remove the package. (your library will remain intact)
Download it again from the downloads page using a different browser (just in case).
reboot the synology
install again"

or:
"You must reinstall DSM itself"

Honestly, reminds me of the “you must completely reformat your computer to solve this”
Is there any other solution for this or an update forthcoming that will put things right?

Upgrading from DSM 6.0 to DSM 6.1 will not mess with your data.

I do advise you uninstall PMS from Package Center. This will not remove your Plex data.
After the upgrade is complete, reinstall PMS.

It is done this way because your data is stored out on the RAID storage volume.
PMS is stored in a different location (where all the apps are stored). They are completely isolated from each other

Thank you kindly for the response.
I have ordered a large backup drive for the NAS before I complete the upgrade and will report back on the update.

Finally, I have completed the task and will share some findings for other Synology NAS owners to smooth out Plex.

I purchased an 8 TB Western Digital My Book and connected it to the nas via the usb 3.0 port in the back.
Installed Synology Hyper Backup from the package center.
Purchased exFAT Access for $3.99 usd from Synology package center, required to recognize the WD My Book.
Performed a backup of 1.8 TB of data.
Uninstalled Plex from packages.

My problem was a setting on the NAS control panel.
Click on Update & Restore->DSM Update->Update Settings-> check Newest DSM and all updates.

This allowed the nas to automatically get to version DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 5 after two updates and restarts.
No need to reset the nas or use Synology assistant.
Manually reinstalled Plex Version 1.11.1.4730 downloaded from Plex website.
Plex seems to perform smoothly with no buffering or failure to load folders, however the folder structure is slightly altered after the updates.
