Hi
Anyone help me please. I have had a computer which had a non plex-pass account for a long time now. Then the computer went(moved with the person who owned it) and I got a new one. Then I wanted to sign into my plex account so I downloaded plex but it kept finding the server name that it isn’t here anymore so I couldn’t sign in as the other person on the server. I used the email and it found it but wouldn’t update or anything without the original computer stuff. I resigned myself to start again and so used a different username and email so as not to bring up the unusable server over and over again as it had. I bought an annual Plex-pass and thought I was sorted. I don’t know how to put the two together. I have one account with a plex pass signs me in but can’t find a server on launch, even though I have just downloaded one, and the other account which now works with the old email as it finds the server for with my stuff on but no plex-pass on that one
So, short version:
1.had a computer with lots on it but was a user. plex wont update for that server on that computer as its not here now.
2. Started on on my own computer and put some stuff on but then couldnt find the server
3. started again with a different computer in the house with a new username and email and got a plex pass.
4. account with new username, email and plex pass can’t find server
5. old (see 2.) server found but has no plex-pass
6. every time I try to start again, it will let me sign in to either but will only find one server and that’s not the one with the plex pass on it so I can’t use that one as it just stays searching for a server.
I am so tangled up in this now that I can’t get my head around something that is probably so obvious
What type of computer do you currently have with the server isntalled on it?
Acer PC, running through my TV
Plenty of space on it. Running through windows, using the smart TV as a monitor
I’ve tried to get around the problem too much and mucked it up completely now. I would even put the two together and just transfer the little bit I have from my files but its the new server that it can’t find. Please could I transfer the Plex-pass onto the old server, or merge the two and call it what you like, so long as it stops only finding the account that doesn’t have the plex pass on it

I don’t know what you mean by this. Plex Pass is a subscription that is tied to your account not any particular server. You enable Plex Pass features to be configured on a server by signing into it with your account.
I assume your computer runs Windows 10. Does the server show as running on the bottom right task tray?
This should remove the old server from your old account:
- Login to http://app.plex.tv/web/app# using your original, non-Plex Pass login. Go to Settings -> Devices -> Servers and remove the server(s) from the account. Remove any other listed devices. Make sure the e-mail on this account is different than the one on your new account. Log-out of account.
Now login to your new server using your new account:
2. On your new system, go to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html and login with the e-mail/password for your new, Plex Pass account. This should also sync your new account and server with app.plex.tv.
Move media from old system to new system via file sharing, USB drive, etc.
Additional troubleshooting tips: Why can’t the Plex app find or connect to my Plex Media Server?
thanks for getting back to me and yes I have two accounts. One with my stuff on and the other with my pass on
