According to the things I read about this, there should be a feature to show an artists or bands upcoming tour dates. I enabled it for my music library (I believe it’s the ‘Concerts’ checkbox), rescanned my library, but no tour dates are visible.
How does this work?

That’s the correct setting. If you haven’t already, refresh metadata for the library; extras such as concert data are metadata, so it will need to be refreshed. You may be able to test on a single artist to confirm, but I’ve never tried that.
Yes, I already tried that, but there is no concert information on any of the artists I know there is an upcoming concert planned. (Tried about 10 most popular bands).
It appears this feature is currently broken.
A bug report for investigating it has been filed.
