Update - Issue Synology NAS - No Library Scan

Server Version#: 1.16.0.1226-7eb2c8f6f
Player Version#: Chome

Hello,

Since updating to latest Synology NAS Plex server my libraries will not automatically scan when new content is added. I checked my settings and nothing has changed, it is still set to scan when new media added.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem - already check permissions on synology - everything ok. PLEX is recognizing new files - but nothing appears on webinterface - nothing on last added etc.

I create a new library to check - if I put something new into it - even the movie agent seems to be not working correctly? My config is to use Plex Movie Scanner within TheMovieDB. If I try to use TheMovieDB only it says no match. If I use Plex Movie Scanner manually I get a result and can choose right item. But even then not all content (cover etc) will be shown?

Anything is wrong since last update?

Help…!!!

Logs please? Need to see what it’s reporting internally / doing or not doing.

We’re good but not clairvoyant

Sorry, you are right. Plex Media Server Logs_2018-02-23_10-42-42.zip (4,1 MB)

Plex Media Server Logs_2019-06-19_15-16-52.zip (3.6 MB)

Here are my logs. Thanks!

Thank you sir. I’ll check out filebot.

Ok, just for information abouzt my problem and if anybody anytime get into that situation.

I have a electric brake 2 weeks ago. I could start my server via IPMP - everythings works so far. What I did not know - BIOS time settings were wrong - that causes all my problems with PLEX.

So just for everybody - take a look into correct date und time settings also in BIOS of the machine.

Regards…

Martin

I don’t have that level of skill to use FileBot successfully or check and repair my library database (if it is corrupted).

I’m going to think about deleting the database and starting over…it will not be fun because two of my libraries require a bit of manual manipulation, or editing for each…audiobook and fitness regimen. Plus I have 8 family members with their own ID’s who use the Plex. I’m assuming if I delete database and start over it starts everyone over with their watch history?

Yes well I tried the instructions on the database repair and got nowhere with sqlite3. Obvoiusly, I wasn’t doing something right. And FileBot is not really necessary, I have software that can rename files in batches so I can just use that.

So when you say “could not be easier” that is all relatively sir. My experience with this stuff is nil and I don’t really wish to try and waste my time learning it, and/or screwing something up. I’d rather be enjoying my media.

So…since it is still working I’m fine with it. Hopefully, it continues to work fine. Thank you for the responses.

Well, now I see it only affects some of my media libraries. I have 4 media folders (audiobooks, TV, movies, fitness programs). The audiobooks and fitness programs automatically scan and update when media is added. However, the television and movies folders do not update automatically when media is added. I have to do a manual scan on these media folders to update.

There is 1,677 folders or movies in that media folder and 274 folders in the TV media folder. Could there be some limitation possibly that I’ve reached?
