We wanted to provide a quick update on upcoming Personal Media Server releases.
Plex Media Server version 1.43.0.x will remain in beta through the end of the year and should be released to production in January. This release introduces some significant improvements to our transcoder and we want to make sure we address any issues that have the potential to disrupt the playback experience before it’s released to everyone. If you’re already running the latest beta (thank you!) and hit any playback / transcoder related issues, please report them here.
The current beta includes a couple of features we’ve already talked about:
Today we’re happy to announce another feature, now available in beta: [Announcement] Custom Metadata Providers .
This should offer interested developers a simpler way to build a custom metadata agent based on their needs, integrate it with their Plex Media Server, and share it with others. If you’re interested in building one, that post is the best place to start.
Just a reminder, beta updates are available to all Plex Pass users.
