I’m getting sick and tired of every update breaking Plex.
Last night I updated to Update Version 1.13.8.5395, now today every dang show I am trying to watch says, Conversion failed. The transcoder failed to start up.
Guess I’m lucky, no major issues with this release for me. If update stability has been a concern you might want to double check your server isn’t on the Beta update channel (Settings > General > Server update channel dropdown).
same experience here…8 out of 10 updates sends the whole thing into a tail spin… haven’t had a fail this hard in two years though - very frustrating. Would love to revert or repair - some how.
and yes, I trashed all the old versions as I thought THEY were the problem…
Are you guys reporting the issues along with log files to the forums here? As a software engineer in test for the last 25 years, I’ve had my share of “missed bugs” that get reported later by customers after the release. So I can understand that with the many flavors of servers and clients that are supported, there will be bugs that get released. Where I will judge Plex though, is how fast they can fix and subsequently release the issues once reported.
Im so glad it is not just me who keeps getting all these issues , and they told me this version along with the new Qnap software was gonna fix all the issues the last 7 versions that have never worked…uggg oooo your name reminds me i need to go online to look for a new foot for my Prosthetic…
its Plex they either added some tracking code or tried to re write something and its causing conflict but instead of backing up and fixing it they just prefer to band aid it …this is almost a 1 year old issue it works with some but not all and its almost the smarter the NAS gets the more issues they have trying to push this code past its security!
