Updating beta channel from plex-repo on Ubuntu

I have a plex-pass and currently run updates from the “beta channel.”
I’ve been using the plexupdate script from here: https://github.com/mrworf/plexupdate
Recently I noticed that plex had installed a repo into my apt sources.d: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/plexmediaserver.list
If I were to uncomment it and then add the PlexPublic.key to my apt keys would it be able to automatically update with the beta channel?
Just asking because having to run and set up an entirely separate script to do this seems a bit overkill.
