If checked, Server version updates “Automatically during scheduled maintenance” the update fails. The install log file states cacert.pem file in use. It tries to roll back but somewhere along the path the files that were deleted in the plex server directory are not restored. Basically Plex is deleted from the system and the only fix to this is to manually do a install. How do I fix this ?
Verify that your anti virus isn’t holding this file for ransom.
- Stop/quit/end Plex Server with the tray icon
- deinstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows
(do not use 3rd party ‘Uninstaller’ software like Revo etc.
do not use “Registry Cleaner/optimizer” software like CCleaner et al) - for safety, reboot Windows
- download the installation exe of the newer version and install it
