Requirement: The entire Plex share, and all contents – this is important, must grant Full Control (administrative, read, and write) permission to System Internal User PlexMediaServer
With this done,
- Uninstall the DSM 7 app – choosing the Erase option.
- Now install 1.26.2.5797-7000 again.
It will either sit there “Installing” (which can take a long time) while it processes all the files and performs the migration
Installation time (process your DSM 6 metadata files and move them) is about 3 minutes per 1000 items you have indexed into PMS.

It will exit with instructions in the popup.
Follow those instructions as written.
