Lost metadata after Synology update. Two Plex folders?

After Synology update and repair of Plex it created an entirely new Plex folder and all the metadata is linked in the old folder. Is there an easy way to tell Plex to look in the old folder?

<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Uninstall the DSM 7 package with the ERASE option.

This cleans out the rogue DSM 7 folder.

Set up the permissions on the Plex shared folder (make certain to get it exact)
so the installer will do the migration (move from DSM 6 → DSM 7 ) for you as it installs.

It will sit at ‘installing’ until complete.
Plex/Migration.log will allow you to follow its progress.

“Scenario 2” is the most common now.

After all is complete, you’ll want to give the new username ‘PlexMediaServer’ access to your media shared folders
