Upgraded to Version 1.25.0.5282. New movies not tying in with old for Actors, etc

Any movies since the upgrade don’t recognize that any of the actors/directors/whatever have any prior movies.

ie, downloaded Blackhat with Colt MacCalleny. He is in 9 others. If you search for him, you see the 9, but not Blackhat. Rescanned, analyzed. Thinking about doing a refresh all metadata, not sure about that…

I’d have to find the threads, but Plex has recently made some changes to how actor IDs are stored and correlated.

Try Refresh Metadata on a few of the other movies with Colt MacCalleny, and see if that behaves how you expect. I think it will, and then you can do the whole Library.

Plex is creating new/duplicate Tags for Directors and Actors that are already in my server

This is an expected side-effect of fixing a very old bug where we could not discern people with the same name and would always overwrite their data with the latest data from the most recently refreshed item. We now store people uniquely when adding new items or refreshing old items, but this won’t fix existing items until they are refreshed. We have also added checks that run at PMS startup and when running a database optimize that will correct duplicate items, so these things should self-corre…
