URL Sharing

We would love the ability to share content to a non-plex user with a simple URL, similar to how OneDrive handles share links. This is especially useful for personal media folders like photos and videos.

If I could share my wedding album to my mom without her needing to make an account and log in, etc, that would be fantastic. I currently do this with OneDrive, but that means having to copy my media to OneDrive to make it happen.

Plex have previously rejected suggestions to publicly share media from servers. That’ll put their service awfully close to file sharing and pirating sites.

I’m sorry we have no current plans to add this to roadmap anytime, as Plex is not a file sharing app, and as such am closing this topic so your votes can be returned to vote on something else.
