I hope you are all doing well. I am trying to override the season in my filenames by using a .plexmatch file but it is not working.
I am using the year in the filename (Show/Season 2020/xxxx - S2020E01 - xxx.mp4) while tmdb is using the actual season number (31). As a consequence, I created a .plexmatch file with the following content:
tmdbid: xxxx
Season: 31
Plex does not match it (it is still taking 2020 as the season). Do you know how I could fix it by any chance ?
You did a folder name override.
But the filename always has precedence, and your filename says it’s s2020
So you need to add filename overrides.
Let’s try it out on Top Gear.
I took my Season 18 directory and moved it away from Plex.
I did a scan, clean & optimize.
I renamed my folder and files to match your style.
I get the annoying Season 2012 to show up, even with your .plexmatch file.
Now I’ll add the filename overrides ↓
# Hint to match the Series and override the directory name.
tvdb: 5106362
season: 18
# Hints to override the filename. Three episode number formats are allowed:
# 01 e01 s18e01
# The first will appear in Season 18.
# The second will appear in Season 18.
# The third will appear in Season 2012. I don't know why.
