i checked “use original titles” but the titles is not my language.
for example it should be “용서는 없다” but it says “Yongseoneun eupda”
in the picture . Use original title should be Yes but it is Library default…
and unmatched movies is not only one… it is dozens…
i dont want to fix them all one by one.
plz fix it…
Did you refresh the library’s metadata after enabling the option to use the original titles?
The usual fix for that is to name/organize your files according to the official naming schema (e.g. <movie title> (<release year>)) with unnecessary technical details „hidden“ from Plex by placing them in a set of square brackets. If Plex doesn’t have sufficient hints for an automatic match, you’ll otherwise need to fix them one by one.
Which agent are you using for that library?
I’ve just tested the original language option by ticking it for a single movie. After refreshing the movie‘s metadata, it showed me the original Japanese title of my movie in my otherwise German-language library. So I cannot seem to reproduce the issue you’ve been experiencing.
There’s a number of preferences that can be configured on a library level. By default, each movie will use the preference configured for the library. That’s why the advanced options for the movie show the value Library default. You can override the library default by changing it to yes/no for a particular movie. In that case, that’s the preference that’ll always be used for that movie (independent if you change the preference on the library level).
The same goes for some other library preferences that can be overridden for individual items (e.g. collection visibility…).
It should be the same, no matter if applied to a single movie or the entire library. That being said… maybe you can do it for a single movie to verify that’s actually true.
If it’s also not working for a single item… have you recently successfully added new items and got online metadata for it? We might need to take a look at your server logs to see if there’s another issue preventing Plex from updating or applying the metadata…
