I recently wanted to change the icon I use for my Plex username in both web and mobile and once I did it, noticed that only parts of the web and mobile user the gravatar image and the other parts use the plex (forums) image?
Only the forums use an avatar you explicitly set in the forums. (Though it's possible for the forums to also pull from Gravatar.) Apps definitely don't pull avatars from the forums.
Apps connecting to a particular Plex Media Server might pull cached avatar information. You can clear the [PhotoTranscoder](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/204041406-Where-are-Plex-Media-Server-cached-images-stored-on-my-computer-) cache for a particular server. Depending on the particular app, you may also need to clear the cache for that app, too.
that won't make a difference. Its already been a few days after doing that. Something is wrong with that image, it seems it doesn't get cached like the others.
I have viewed the active session XML and THAT points to the correct gravatar so it seems that the the icon used in now playing is still the old one even after having used 2 different browsers.

old post, but im trying to do this now as well… are you saying to delete the entire “photo transcoder” folder?? Isn’t that ALL the plex metadata? How long would it take to rebuild all that? Is there a more direct way to remove the avatars alone?
