I’d like to set up my HDHomeRun using the Plex guide, and xTeVe using an XMLTV guide.
I used to use a hack/workaround to accomplish this:
Now that Plex officially supports multiple tuners, I thought I’d try that functionality out rather than using the hack.
I added my HDHomeRun using the Plex guide fine. However, if I try to add xTeVe + the XMLTV guide, it doesn’t let me select an XMLTV guide. If I enter an invalid ZIP code where no Plex guide exists, I get this message:
Because you already set up a tuner using Plex DVR guide data, we are unable to offer the option to use a XMLTV guide.
Is there really no way to do this? I thought that it’d be a common case for people that want to have both their local antenna service plus an internet TV service (or something like disqueTV) in Plex at the same time…
Yea Plex wants to raise as many barriers for using Plex for IPTV purposes as possible… it’s unfortunate because I was a huge fan UNTIL they took this turn… I paid for lifetime pass… not ‘neutered lifetime pass’.
Have been searching for a fix to this as there arent any good free UK xmltv providers and if plex wants to put a load of extra features into the dvr when using plex guides then they should atleast give the option for xmltv aswell. (also commenting to stop this being automatically closed.)
