G’day,
I’m trying to use my Synology 218plus NAS as a Plex Media Server. I’ve installed the Plex Media Server onto the NAS and it has created a \NAS IP\Plex shared folder on the NAS.
I already have the Synology NAS shared folder \NAS IP\Media mapped as drive M:, which is where I currently have all of my media files.
Most of the media files are ALAC, FLAC and MP3 rips of the 2300+ CDs in my music collection. I use Roon to manage and play the FLAC versions of the music files. I don’t intend to let Plex know about them.
I also have a \NAS IP\Music\Video Library directory on this drive where I have my video files. I now want Plex to manage and play these files.
The Video Library directory has subdirectories into which I’ve organised my video, DVD and Blu-Ray collection.
Video Library\Animation
Video Library\Comedy Shows
Video Library\Documentaries
Video Library\Home Videos
Video Library\iMovies
Video Library\Kidz Movies
Video Library\Movies
Video Library\Music Videos
Video Library\Theatre Shows
Video Library\TV Shows
Video Library\YouTube
How do I tell Plex about these files?
When I try to “Add a Library” in Plex, it doesn’t let me browse to these video files.
Best regards, Lloyd Borrett.
