Using pc media player should I be able to access Movies and Shows (mediaverse)

I use a computer to play plex on a tv. It will not show live tv or movies and show (crackle, sony, etc) Am I doing something wrong?

Not really sure that means. Which Plex player app are you using on your TV?

The app “Plex Media Player” does not currently support them,

I am running Plex Media Player (for window pc home theater). I can only run my personal library, and podcast, web news etc. However, if I switch from the HTPC to the browser mode, live tv and movies show up, otherwise they do not appear. When in the browser mode, plex setting can be adjusted and the alike.

The desktop mode of Plex Media Player is not being updated anymore for a while now. If you want to use that you should use the newish desktop app “Plex for Windows or Plex for Mac” Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More

We are currently working on a new HTPC app that will only have a TV mode which should hopefully be out soon. Plex Media Player itself I don’t think will receive many more updates if any.
