Using “Play Next” option makes next video stuttering

Getting severe framerate issues when using the “Play Next” option on multiple beta versions (most recent was 9.16.0.38368).

The next video is always stuttering whenever you enter it from the “play next” screen (does not matter if you have autoplay enabled or if you click the “play next” on the screen nor does it matter if you have the “Refresh Rate Switching” setting on or off). Restarting the episode from home screen plays it fine. Seems like some framerate issue when transitioning between episodes when using the “play next” option once an episode completes.

Saw a previous post from October where this happened to an Apple TV beta user, but no updates were ever given (and the topic was closed out) so the problem clearly persists. Please ensure this is fixed before this gets pushed to a “stable” release.

Can confirm I got the same issue on latest android tv build.

When a new episode autoplays I have to restart it because it’s just lagging so badly. After restart of the episode it works fine.

Ii have a but report for this but I could not reprodice myself. If y’all are willing to provide your android logs it would be appreciated. ( you can message them to me.)

I didn’t think it was a memory issue, only because I could easily replicate it with some specific files with all 3 of my nvidia shields… I would start one and immediately fast forward to the end and let it play the next episode and the stuttering would occur every time within the first 10 sec of playing. I eventually realized it was the due to the beta version and went back to the regular version on my devices. What logs would you need if I replicate it (and where do those logs reside on the nvidia shield)?

I enabled logging and the issue didnt show up again, I was watching different media so not sure if that was the cause. I will test with what I was watching when it messed up before. But I did enable the logging and it had lots of logs from earlier in the day when it did mess up. I will PM to you.

Sorry for the delay. I will have to reinstall the beta version on one of my devices and can definitely replicate it. Will try to get you the logs this week.
