Using Plex without Internet when Media is on device

Hello Everyone,

Basically, was just wondering if I can use plex basically as a media player on my device without using the internet when the media files are on the actual device.

So basically I have an external hard drive plugged into my device which my Plex gets its library from. But if I watch the files on that device, can I do it without using any internet?

Any help would be great.

You should be able to just fine - connect with either 127.0.0.1:32400 or use the actual IP address of your machine with port 32400 behind it. For example: http://192.168.1.10:32400/web/index.html#

you can also enable DLNA on your plex server and most tv’s,dvd and other devices will also allow DLna devices to be played.
