I have interest in the trending / social network features Plex has added recently, but my streaming setup is 100% local Plex, I have no use for finding out which service content is on. I have all services unticked and have the Plex streaming content turned off in my server options.
A few oddities arise from this. I get three rows added to my homescreen.
- Available on Your Services (Despite Having the Plex Streaming Service off and no other services ticked, I’m still getting this row. It appears to be content from my watchlist that is available on the Plex service).
- Trending Trailers (I don’t “trust” where Plex is drawing what is trending from… the movies are sometimes decades old and not popular and now Plex is pinning it’s Plexclusives to the first spot. Even when having the Plex streaming service turned off. Content of this row seems to never change position, would rather Top X shuffled, instead of whatever sort order is used now.)
- Trending on Apple TV (What is this? It’s not Apple TV+ because it has Marvel movies and Law & Order… is it people using Plex on the ATV platform?)
Additionally, when I go into the Trending tab there are lots of rows that would be useful to me that I can’t add to the homescreen. Shouldn’t Trending have a option in the Manage>Libraries section to pick the order and what rows show up on the homescreen?
