I wonder how many successfully use the Plex app through their TV. I’m thinking of purchasing a Sony XBR 900E series TV (65") and I really would like to use the TV’s Plex app rather then my HTPC, Roku, etc.
Just wanted to know if there were many “success” stories and if anyone could chime in on this particular model.

I use the Samsung and have been for years with no issues. I have a 65" a 46" and 40".
I got tired of HTPC and IR or RF remote issues now I just use TV remote and that is it.
The newer i.e. 2015+ models with Tizen are way better as in faster but that is expected.

I use on my 50" samsung smart tv’s plex app all the time.
Why bother when pretty much every tv can’t pass through HD audio with the built in Plex clients?

That is a good question, @danjames92 and one that I agonized over a little.
I came to the conclusion that I am not an audiophile like I used to be in my younger days. I have a 5.1 surround system and I have decided that I am quite content with DTS or DD+ being the “highest” sound quality by running through the native app and using ARC then having the ability to output HD audio via HTPC, etc.
Just want less clutter.
