Looking for new TV suggestions : 65" with a Plex App

We’re in the market for a new TV this year and I would like to have a native Plex app on it since I don’t use my Roku for anything other than Plex. Anyone have suggestions/must-avoid recommendations?

I want 65", somewhere from $1000-1600, decent viewing angle. I’ve researched on RTINGS quit a bit and like the new Vizio models but still no Plex app for the 2017 versions? Assuming the Plex app will actually come to Vizio new models, I’ll but and wait. But I wonder if any real-world users have opinions. Other options are Sony XBR65X850E and LG non-OLED models (I can’t justify $3500ish for a TV).

I know LG has the WebOS app but they have ads now just like Samsung which really irks me on principal.

I have had Sumsung TVs for a while got a 65" a year or 2 ago so the newer Tizen one but have older non Tizen as well.
The 2015 and above model Samsung is Tizen and in my opinion is a great experience for the price.
almost everything direct plays so no transcoding including live tv so playback is never an issue.
the interface is pretty modern and clean and works with Alexa voice control.
You can have the TV remember last App so when I turn the TV on Plex is there are ready to go no waiting to boot TV and load app (this is Tizen specific so again 2015 and newer models, older ones are clunkier)

The only thing that is missing at this time for me is native live tv support but I am assuming its in the works and for now I use the HDHR plugin which works flawlessly.

Yeah, I did like the Samsung’s until they loading them with ads. I guess that’s the state of the world these days. I was hoping to throw my dollars at a company who didn’t look at me as a data farm.

Personally, if I could get a “dumb” TV and use a Roku, I would. After buying one “smart” TV, and having the manufacturer stop supporting or updating the “smart” apps on the TV after about a year (Thanks a bunch, Vizio), I decided the “smart” TV was not the way to go.

By using an external box like the Roku, I can upgrade or change my internet-connected functionality without replacing the TV.

Yeah, good point there…
