V15.0 tvOS

Update: ran the script and everything worked fine, but it did not solve the problem. Still getting missing TV series and movies that physically exist on the drive and directories that Plex points to, but they do not get picked up in a scan.

Also, I’m getting when I scan random movies and TV series appearing in recently added when they weren’t recently added.

Thanks for your efforts

Just a quick suggestion - try creating a new (2nd) TV library and copy/move the shows over into that and see if it picks them up.

I think I may have found the problem. Their latest update buggered up the manage library area.

The place where you add all of the pointers and drives (volumes) to where you want PLEX to scan to find content.

Those volume and directory references completely disappeared!

What’s interesting is if I add those references back to both movies and TV Shows, then save and exit, they are all gone the next time I check them? It appears the “save” function has stopped working?

Did you happen to take a new version of the operating system? Sounds like maybe some sort of permissions error (where it’s not saving then you click “Save”).

Just tested on my server version of Plex (Version 1.41.6.9685) and not getting any issues like that. However, I am on Docker running on Ubuntu.

I updated a week or so ago to OSX Sequoia 15.4.1.

Can’t find anywhere I would have the ability to set volume or other permissions?

I spun up a Mac 15.4.1 instance earlier when I sent you those screenshots and was able to add libraries etc, so I don’t think it’s a Plex Media Server issue. You can enable full disk access for PMS by opening Mac System Settings then Privacy & Security -> Full Disk Access Click the + at the bottom and it will bring up a window for you to find your “Plex Media Server” app in your application folder.

Give that a shot and see if it allows you to save. If that doesn’t work you can post your server logs from Plex and it will say if it’s having disk write errors.

Thanks.. did that and re-ran scan…

Still skips various directories without an discernible reason?

Another example… see attached

Thanks for your efforts…

You might need to read this thread: Plex Files Unavailable but they’re not missing

Thank you. Very interesting thread.!

It’s very long, but it appears that there are many people with the same issue.

Well, I read that entire thread, which took me all night because it was so long.

However, I did try something that was suggested in it, which basically said to open the various directories for TV and movies and leave them open. Just minimize them and then do the regular scan of importing various content.

That scanned, which normally takes just a few minutes for minimal content went on for most of the night. When I was done all the missing directories and various are missing content, reappeared, and everything appears normal.

So, I’m just leaving them open on the desktop and from now on I will import and scan that way this morning because of just a few additions went very quickly.

Thanks to the various posters here with their suggestions attempting to help

I don’t think this is a final solution as it certainly must lay in the sequoia operating system as it works with Synology servers.
