The artist grouping “Various Artists” has disappeared and in it’s place is 'Olu Dara".
In the description text is this: “Warning! Deleting this artist may remove other artists and scrobbles from your library - please handle with caution! Note: You can view albums tagged as ‘Various Artists’ in your library here. The term Various Artists is used in the record industry when numerous singers and musicians collaborate on a song or collection of songs.”

You have activated “prefer local meta tags”. But you have not separated your files cleanly into the proper folder structure.
This issue could have been caused by a single stray file with wrong or incomplete embedded meta tags.

I’m running into the exact issue, mainly because I recently set my server to prefer local metadata to fix a different issue with software that interacts with my library.
It’s super frustrating because after turning it back to not prefer local metadata, I spent way too much time renaming albums to “Various Artists” just for it to rename others and screw things up. I basically had to unmatch a ton of albums and leave them unmatched.
Granted a lot of these songs are in a “compilations” folder managed by iTunes, but it’s such a pain in the ass. Worst of all is that all the albums I was able to correct now show today as the added date when I’ve had these in my music library for over a decade. As someone who really doesn’t like that, I’m strongly considering now going in and editing the database timestamps for those albums just so they can be correct.
