Can someone explain how to fix an ongoing issue with Various Artists?
I have songs from Various Artists albums, but the various artists on Plex ends up assigning this to a certain artist. Right now, this is Carly Simon.
How do I fix this issue? I’ve tried unmatch and rematching, but still the same issue.

I have “prefer local metadata” activated.
My structure for one various artists album is
Music\Various Artists\Bad Boys for Life
Am I missing something when I have all the album artists labeled as “Various Artists” in my Various Artists folder?
I did the Plex Dance to fix the issue but it’s not working.
Can you point me to a clearer direction as to what the proper structure and way should be for having various artists in?

Soundtrack album is the name of the number of soundtracks I have.
When using Prefer local metadata, you need to be absolutely certain that the embedded tags in your media files are accurate. If you have tracks in the Various Artists folder that have an embedded album artist tag that isn’t literally “Various Artists”, you’ll continue to stumble upon this issue.

Prefer local metadatasetting for the music library, you need to make sure that the embedded metadata follows this information. Failure to do so can cause all the Various Artist content to be mis-categorized under a different artist.
You can use something like MusicBrainz Picard to clean up your media tags. Alternatively, you’re less likely to see this behaviour if you disable the Prefer local metadata setting.
