Verify Plex Music (MuiscBrainz) metadata behavior

Hello, I wanted to verify some of the Plex Music Scanner (MusicBrainz scanner) metadata behavior. I have some albums where multiple releases in the release group have different names and were released by a different label. For example Slow Riffs by Slow Riffs: https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/eaa626ef-96dd-4890-bc6c-3eb8286447a4

In this case I am able to match with the digital reissue called “Slow Riffs” via the Moodhut label. However, it pulls [no label] for the label information instead of Moodhut.

Can anyone verify that the Plex Music Scanner pulls label from the first entry in the release group and not the release matched? I would expect it to pull label information from the release matched instead.

Just a thought. Did you check the meta data of the file in Picard?

Maybe the tag in the file is causing the issue? Try changing the tag and see if that fixes it?

Thank you. I verified the behavior with a few other cases, and it does take the “Record Label” from the chronologically first entry (the same entry that “Originally Available” is pulled from).
