Version 1.15.4.993 - can't claim my server

Server Version#: Version 1.15.4.993
Player Version#: (n/a-I can’t get that far.)
Plex.tv account: tanveerspence@gmail.com

I just installed Version 1.15.4.993 on a Ubuntu Linux computer. My media server was created (name: DELLUBUNTU) and I’m getting: This server is unclaimed and not secure
Claiming this server will associate it with your Plex account.
This helps your devices find each other and helps keep your media safe.

That does not work, however, In fact, it tries to do the claim for about 2 minutes, then returns with no errors to the web application still offering the option to claim the server. If I enable Chrome browser debugging I see errors on the console: (NOTE: Due to the 2 links resrictions, the phrase plex dot tv below has been modified to (PLEXTV):

The logs are attached to the following reply due to the forum’s 2 links restriction.

  1. Sign the browser out of Plex in your Plex/web app if signed in.
  2. Stop Plex
  3. Delete file “/var/snap/plexmediaserver/common/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Preferences.cml”
  4. Start Plex
  5. Open an incognito window
  6. Now open http://192.168.1.7:32400/web in that new window.

I am assuming that this is the actual preferences file I need to delete: “var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Preferences.xml” which I did along with the stop and starts prescribed. Appears to not have made any differences. The Google Chrome developer console shows:

Please use only one installation package at a time.

You can’t run two concurrently on the same host. They collide when establishing the sockets needed for the clients to connect to.

There does appear to be a problem communicating with plex.tv with all requests to plex.tv timing out.

Is this the issue still there? If it is, then could be some network setup issue on the system

Good morning both, and thanks for your quick responses. I’ve attempted to stand up the PMS on a 32-bit Ubuntu desktop and, as you pointed out, I inadvertently installed first via a Snap package and then via dpkg. I’ve decided to stand up a new 64-bit Ubuntu server and will attempt the installation of PMS on that. So I’ll close out this issue and will open a new issue if I run into more problems.

And continued here:
