Version 8-29 broke AAC passthrough

Server Version#: 1.25.3.5409
Player Version#: plex-8-29-0-30433-release

I previously used plex-8-28-0-30077-release where this issue i’m reporting was working just fine.

Setup
Nvidia Shield (plex app) → TV → Sonos (via HDMI ARC)

TV: Dolby Digital audio enabled
Shield: Audio format detection is set to “Auto” and Dolby audio processing is enabled

Issue

In the previous version 8-28 i was able to play movies with AAC 5.1 sound.
Caveat: it only worked when i selected “Optical” passthrough (with AC3 enabled) instead of HDMI in the Plex App settings.

When i looked in my Sonos App on my iphone it said that the sound was “Dolby Digital 5.1”

Now after i updated to 8-29 my Sonos app shows that the audio is now Dolby Digital 2.0 (i’ve lost surround) - I’ve tried switching between HDMI and Optical passthrough in the Plex app, but nothing works.

I noticed something in the 8-29 patch notes - could this be a fix, that broke the functionality for me?

Player: prefer non-PCM output when playing over ARC.
