Plex already has “optimized” versions. Is there a way to toggle a movie between a 2D & 3D movie files with one movie listing in library. Right now I have a separate library for my 3D collection. When I watch a 3D movie or a movie that has a 3D in other library, It shows that both are playing and I can resume either. But w/o manual labeling, there is no way to tell which is which.
EndOfL1ne - The ability to group films with multiple versions, whether it be 2D and 3D or theatrical and director’s cuts has been a dream of mine since I started using Plex, but for some reason it’s never been implemented the way I felt it should. I have discovered a work around though that does what I want…in a way. I use Collections. It’s tedious and time consuming to setup because you need to tag each single film with its title and tag multiple versions of a film with the same title. This is necessary because you will need to switch to the collection display and if a title doesn’t have a collection tag it won’t appear. So my single version of Black Panther will appear next to the collection of the five different versions of Blade Runner.
Interesting but not the solution I’m looking for. At the moment just keeping all 3D files in a 2nd movie library will serve me better than collections.
It’s been so long since I’ve been here on the forum that it’s all changed. If I have Plex Pass, is it still possible to speak to a Plex employee?
