It’s been 3 days that every content on Plex for PS5 is reproduced in very bad quality. Of course the files are in HD or even 4K but the quality is horrible. If I watch the same movies on the Plex media server on my PC it’s a different story, the quality is perfect.
I’m trying everything: resetting the PC, the PS5, the router, I’ve also read around that changing the DNS works… but nothing changed to me. Usually when this happened before I just needed to restart Plex and everything used to go back to normal. Now in these days.
Please help me… I need Plex!!!

Play the same file you see a difference in quality on both the computer and the PS5
It’s generally one of two things. The PS5 can’t natively handle the full quality of the file you’re trying to play so it’s transcoding to a lower quality
This will tell you the difference between the two files
Or you could also be getting an “indirect” connection which is more of a network configuration issue. This is what’s known as a relay connection and with no Plex pass you’re limited to a 1mbps stream.

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately I don’t think it’s my case. I’m talking about of files that were perfect and all of a sudden are now only played in SD.
About the network, seems weird since I didn’t change anything.
Repeat, this issue happened out of the blue from a day to another without making any change to my regular settings
When I’ve seen there’s an update on the PS5 version I prayed for the best… but nothing really changed, beside the background on the PS home (I’m actually glad you changed).
I still have the problem… am I the only one? This is getting really frustrating
