My media server is working. All the other users who share my libraries can see the server. I can see it on my samsung TV but… It is not available to MY user on my android phone and tablet, or plextv web… I can switch users and see it, but I’m the admin user and would like to access it!!!
What, precisely, happens after switching to your user account?
Are there any error messages?
When using the web app https://app.plex.tv
can you see your server after clicking on MORE at the left side bar?
My server is unavailable using the android app and using Plex TV web or using the localhost address I get
No soup for you
you do not have access to this server.
The the other reason it’s weird is that I have somebody else to share server with me and I can see all the stuff on theirs, but not mine!
Sorry I should say I can see the server when clicking on ‘more’ but I don’t have access to it, as mentioned before
Could you perform the switching again, and then fetch the Android logs and send them to me or post them here?
Will do, first thing tomorrow, thanks.
Side question: did you delete anything from here https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/devices/all
or did you recently change your password and chose to “Sign out connected devices after password change” during the process?
I think your part of his home…
I thiink @OttoKerner has a work around if that’s the case…
Yes… did i mess up?
I was trying to reset my tablet as i couldn’t sync anything anymore. i have used plex for years and never had any issues
This maybe of some help…
This is not the case. You did not join someone else’s Plex Home.
i know, i think the deleting device thing was the root of the problem…
On the affected devices, log out of your Plex account. (i.e. don’t ‘Switch User’, but really log out)
Additionally, Clear Cookies in the web browser.
Restart these devices, then log back in.
now i have an error signing in!, not username or password - ‘an error’
Try using 8.8.8.8 as your DNS server.
Normally, this is a setting in your router configuration. That way, it will influence every device in your home network.
If you rather don’t dare to change it right now, you can try to make the change in the network connection properties on your computer. That way you can try at least if it helps with the web app.
(Make sure that both server and your clients have correct date and time set. This is important!)
i canlog in to the android app, but says my user is offline and still cant see my server! i can still see plex stuff and my friends server
ok i will try that and get back to you
i have google wifi, have changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 i haven’t noticed nay difference but nothing has changed as far as plex is concerned.
I cant see my server on and android app or from plex.v however it has always been ok and is still working on my TV using the samsung app, under my user, maybe i can use that to help?
Could you give this a read? Cannot access server remotely... due to verizon fios DNS?
I will read but I don’t know how it can explain why all other users are fine and why I can still use Plex via my user on my TVs just not Android or webtv
