Video not displayed properly on iOS

Videos are not playing properly on iOS. The picture goes underneath the dynamic island so you get a big black hole in the video on the side. Also, the picture goes off the edges of the screen.

This makes using plex on an iPhone unusable if you actually want to see what you’re watching.

Please fix asap! Or give us a way to download the legacy plex app until you get around to fixing stuff, please. It sucks that I can’t watch things on the go anymore.

UPDATE: I’m testing a few different videos with different resolutions and aspect ratios. It seems like the Plex iOS app doesn’t format 2.39 aspect ratio properly. 1.87 seems to fit to the screen correctly so far in my testing. But 2.39 videos have stretched all the way to the edges of the screen instead of being matted properly.

Thanks for report

@BigWheel are you fixing it? Watching a film now where all of the Display Modes are playing over (under?) the cutout

I’m not a dev so won’t be personally fixing it. There is a bug report for it but I cannot provide any ETA

Yeah less snark please, you’re a Plex Employee representing the company that I was addressing through you. Thanks.

snappyfool, BigWheel is not being snarky. He a busy employee and if a short message resinates as being offensive to you, thats bad on you.

His job is not to hold your hand…

If you have not tried, iOS supports Display pinch and reverse pinch if Mode is set to Letterbox.

Regardless of which way you change Display Mode, none of them fit content.

Confirming this is 2.39 as OP found. Extremely common cinematic aspect ratio.
