video not playing smooth

hi,
new to raspberry 2.
i just set up a raspberry 2 (with hifiberry digi+, which goes into a dac via s/pdif) with rasplex.
raspberry 2 is connected via ethernet cable, and via hdmi to a samsung (eu32d6500) with CEC enabled.
rasp 2 is powered by a trasformer dc 5 vol, 2A.

concerning music (flac files mainly) everything plays really really great .

i have a problem with videos (files are mainly mkv 720p or 1080p). videos are not 100% smooth, every about 10/20 seconds the video does a sort of “hiccup” of a fractions of a second. this is more evident in action scenes. kind of annoying. i read the rasp pi 2 should play smooth video files.
can someone help on how to solve the problem?
i tried to change overclock settings to:
arm_freq=1000
core_freq=500
sdram_freq=500
over_voltage=2
but this does not seem to change anything.

any advice about where could be the problem?
maybe on rasplex video setting?

thank you

i forgot:
rasplex version is 0.7.1

… and sd card is a verbatin 8gb Class 10 UHS-I

Have you changed the sync to audio or sync to video settings from default?

nope.

now i changed the “adjust display refresh rate to match video” from “off” to “always” and the videos play smooth.

thanks

@stefano_p Can you please mark this as answered, thanks.
