Video output different on Plex and Celluoid, can I change the codec that Plex uses?

Using Version 4.57.4 running on Linux Mint.

On Plex video from a source is coming out faded.

However running the same file in the media player Celluloid shows the file in normal colors.

Is there a way to change the codec or enable a different way for Plex to play video files? Attached files show the differences.

Thanks

Are you using the Plex web app or Plex Media Player? These are different apps.
But both don’t support HDR yet.

So, please state which Plex player you are actually using.
Please do also state whether playback in Plex is “direct” or “transcoded”.

Please do also copy the first ~15 lines from the Plex XML info of this movie.

I am playing from both the web app and a Roku 3, both show the same results. As I stated above Celluloid shows the media in full color. The media has been confirmed to work just fine in Windows.

How do I check what the Plex playback state is?

I am pasting everything from the XML file as this was all of it.

This is a HDR movie. You need a player which can handle 4K HEVC HDR.
The web app cannot do that.
And I’m not sure if the Roku 3 can do it either.
And if both cannot do that, you will only see a transcoded version, probably without proper HDR to SDR tone mapping.

Okay thanks.
