Video Quality on ATV

One of the things I have been a bit disappointed with Plex is the video quality from my Mac Mini. When I use the Plex Home Theater app on my Mac Mini to play back through HDMI on my plasma TV I get crushed blacks and over saturation of colors. I am assuming that is because I can't seem to find a display profile that is appropriate. My Panasonic Plasma has been professionally calibrated using my Oppo BDP-83 as a source.

So up until now I have been using the DLNA feature on my OPPO to play content from my Plex server. This gives the expected great video quality, but I don't have the nice GUI.

So I thought of the PlexConnect option to get the GUI back, but I was wondering what I should expect for video quality if I use PlexConnect with my ATV3?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Regards,

Phil

Same at your HT Client (Of course if it's more than 1080P, remember aTV limit it 1080P so nothing more than that). Open PlexConnect app, go to Settings tab and change video quailty to the best (Remote means MyPlex quailty).

Got everything set up. Picture quality is good - not quite as good as when going through the OPPO, but OK. So happy with that. Having other issues, though. Covering that in a separate thread.
