I don’t know when this started, but at some point h265 hevc 10-bit encodes started displaying way too dark when streaming. Whether to mobile, web, or through roku on my television. These same files used to stream very well, in high quality, but now they all are so dark in parts that you can’t see anything. I’ve also seen this in some h264 that are specifically noted as 10-bit, so I expect additional color depth but these are unwatchable during dark scenes.
Was there some update that changed video handling with 10-bit files? Anyone seen this and has ideas on how to work around it other than changing back to 8-bit h264 for all my files?
