Video won't play on specific Android table, server won't transcode

Video is 10-bit HEVC. Tablet is Galaxy Tab A9+, which is known to not support that encode combination (some other Galaxy Tab devices do). Plex apparently doesn’t recognize this tablet model specifically, so it doesn’t attempt to transcode the video into a supported format. Other videos play fine (e.g., 8-bit HEVC, non-HEVC, etc.).

A potential workaround is to optimize the video. But I also want to download the video to my tablet, and there appears to be no way to select the optimized version for download.

Any suggestions, on either getting Plex to transcode for this specific device, or to select an optimized version for download?
