So, i just bought me a Chromecast with google tv, and no matter what i do, i can’t use it to play anything above 720p. I first tried the Official version of the Player, and since tried updating to the beta, but that didn’t help.
If i try to play either h264 1080p videos, or 2160p HEVC videos, it will play the media for around 1-2 minuts, which after the image freezes, the sound freezes, but it still plays on the timeline as if it was playing fine. If i stop the playback, and open it again it will play from where the timeline reached for a couple minutes again, which after it then does the same thing over again. When i look at my tautulli install when playing, i can see it plays the video directly without transcoding, while transcoding the container, audio and subtitles.
It also happens when i try to play from my friends plex server. He also tried playing from my server, and encountered the samme issue as me.
If i use the plex app on my semi old Samsung smart tv, i can play all the videos without any problems, which is a bit akward, since the app on my tv hasnt been updated since 2018.
I would love to be able to use the plex app Player on my chromecast with google tv, but as of right now it’s completely useless with plex.
If i need to upload logs or something, please let me know which ones, since i tried downloading them from my server but there are tons of them and I don’t know which one to upload.
