I’m just bought the life time access pass to be able to get access my Videotron TV box via Plex.
If I check the Plex website I can see that It should be working with videotron (I’m in canada) but when i trying to add the DVR it doesnt work.
Do I need to buy an extra tuner to be able to connect it?

You cannot access videotron network. Videotron, like any other provider in Canada has a closed network. They do not provide cable card to use your own device like the Hdhomerun prime. There is nothing you can do. You have to use their cable box. Plex cannot access the ts stream from Videotron cable box.
To use plex, you will need an antenna and an OTA tuner like the HDhomerun connect and you will get free over the air channels.
For me, I use videotron before I switch to bell and I use plex to record TV. I buy Hauppauge Colossus for tuner and I use nextpvr for handle tuner. You need to put proxy between nextpvr and plex (https://github.com/rogueosb/npvrProxy).
Pour moi, j’ai utilisé videotron avec plex pvr avant de passé à Bell. J’ai acheté la carte hauppauge colossur pour le tuner et j’utilise nextpvr pour gérer le tuner. Tu dois mettre un proxy entre plex et nextpvr(https://github.com/rogueosb/npvrProxy).
