View live channel without guide information

I am using a Multicom C-200 to broadcast over the air channel 45.1 to view my DVD player to remote tvs in my house wirelessly. Since this is a home broadcast it doesnt have any guide data. Plex will detect the channel but it wont show up because i didnt select any guide data. The channels tv app can recognize and play the live channel. I would like to use the plex application to view this channel because I like the interface better.

Can you help me to view this home channel on plex

Are there any channels you don’t use that you could just map to that one? It would have wrong guide data but you could tune to it.

Otherwise would need to make a custom XMLTV guide but that would probably be more work than worth it

Thank you for the advice works great I just have to look for un-used channel in the guide instead of RF channel I assigned to it.

I have to say this really isn’t any help when you have 26 channel over the air that are not in any online guides. Here in the Pittsburgh PA area we have had several channels that haven’t been included in any of the online channel guide feeds for years.

Curious how this relates to the original posters question? They are wanting to bring in a single channel that he is “broadcasting” from his own home. TV Guide data won’t be available for them because there would be no guide data for something they are transmitting. The suggestion to use a channel EPG data that is currently not in use does make sense.

I think he is asking for a the channels to just appear without any metadata or even a channel name. Like if the tuner picks up channel XYZ.3 and we don’t have the data just show the channel number as seen by tuner without the guide data like just one continuous stream.

Right now that is not possible and would need to use an XMLTV guide. Probably should make a Feature Suggestion

Yes its the basic fact that any channel regardless of where it is coming from with out a guide can’t be added to the system so for me i lose 26 channels cause i can’t access them for this same reason there is no guide.

i mean i would love just to be able to add with no guide and just have it default to blank half hour or hour blocks of time. Like 1 to 2PM then next show 2 to 3PM
