I am trying to figure out how to create a channel that aggregates local content from my various video libraries - to form a virtual cable channel for my wife. Ideally, I would have different genre “channels” that would randomly combine multiple video files meeting that genre - and allow her to select genre and get hours of “cable tv”.
Any ideas? Happy to do the legwork, but couldn’t find anythingon this forum (hopefully I didn’t miss)

Sadly no idea, and actually don't think it can be done with the API, but anyway....take a peek here:

if you can't do it through the API, and i'm not sure you can, then perhaps you could set up a web server separate from Plex, have that web server serve your local content on a local IP. then create a Plex Channel to consume/organize/stream that content from the webserver. seems stupid to have to do that, but it should work.
