Voddler Plugin

I’ll make sure that the token error message gets fixed in future releases. Appreciate the feedback.

Sorry: All below is wrong. When I found this thread there was a link to the .bundle but it now seems it was an old version. Everything works perfectyl now!.

Hi!

Great work so far. I have a problem. I installed the app as described in OP and everything seems to work fine except one important thing. The movie doesn’t play :). I see all movies, select a free one, get the commercial and “loading circle”. But when loaded 100% a play button appears and I have no way to press it. Seems to be the same way with all osd buttons like “start over” or “resume”. I have tried mouse and all keyboard keys without luck. Any suggestion?

Edit: Windows 7, corei7. Windows plex server, windows plex client. Dual monitors playing plex on main monitor. Latest Adobe Air and Flash Player. Updated player via Voddler site (movies work there).

Edit2: I saw above something about a playlist feature. I don’t get that one. How do I know I’m logged in properly? I have entered the right credentials but can’t se payed movies or playlists anywhere.

Edit3: All was because of old version. Updated now and all works. Sorry. :frowning:

Thanks in advance.

Alex

I seem to experience exactly the same issue, but as far as I can see everything is up to date (where do I check the Media center version nowdays??). What is wrong?

I would really like to get it working, this seems like an excellent plugin!

/M

Try to download the plugin again. I changed the download link on the first page to drohr’s github page recently to avoid confusion. Hopefully that’s the issue

Unfortunately still does not work. :frowning:

I am still running Snow Leopard (10.6.8), is that a problem?

Update: It works on my MacMini (where it is finally supposed to work) with the Media Server running on an iMac. It does not work on the iMac itself however. Setup is equal on both computers.

This solves my problem and I am more than happy to now have a complete media center  The iMac-issue however might be something for someone to look into??

Thanks!

I have windows 7, Plex Media Server 0.9.5.2 and the client is a Lg Smart Tv. I extracted others plugin in the Plex plugin folder and work correctly, but with voddler.bundle I can´t see the plugin in the Lg TV. I need help please…

Thanks

Absolutely. I wonder however if you might have two versions of plex installed/running on the iMac. Could there be multiple plugin folders and you're still running my old version? A shot in the dark really, but I cannot see why it would differ on the iMac.

Plex usually hides plugins that does not work correctly. It could be that LG is running a different version of Plex on their systems (a custom version that is) with a slightly different API. It might be possible to fix if that is the case so may be worth looking into. Is there any way for you to extract the Plex log from the media server?

By default the plugin is only available for Mac and Windows (as it was tested and built for those platforms, which doesn't mean it only works on those platforms). You can enable the plugin for all platforms by changing the preferences on your plex media server, under advanced, check the box "Disable capability checking".

I cannot watch any movie. I have been able to play a trailer but movies don’t load.

The same message appears all the time on the screen: ‘Opening stream’

I have an iMac with Snow Leopard and Voddler Net is running.

What’s wrong? Have I forgotten anything to configure?

Do you have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed? Are you able to watch voddler movies through Safari?

Yes, I have the latest Adobe Flash Player and I am able to watch movies through Safari.

I am running plex server on a windows 7 machine and plex client on a hacked apple tv 2. Is is possible for me to install voddler om my apple tv plex?

Hi!

This is exactly the plugin I have been searching for and it does just the thing you would expect

Extra bonus is that I can now play Voddler movies on the iPad using Plex. A bit choppy playback over my wifi, but it is far better than Voddler’s own offerings which are very limited for mobile devices.

I have problem seeing the full movies, though.

Was watching “The Dark Knight”, but only the first 2 hours are available in Plex. Can it be fixed?

/David

I've tried to fix the choppy playback before but the underlying issue is that the bitrate from Voddler is so high that is hard to get good performance. We tried lowering the bitrate and that solved most of the choppy issues, but the movie looked kinda like ■■■■. I'm sorry to say that I'm no longer working for Voddler so I can't tell if they are looking into making any enhancements in that area. Its really something that I wanted to fix before leaving but just didn't have the time.

Regarding the 2h mark on Dark Knight. it just cuts of after two hours? Exact? Do you have that issue with more movies? Does the movie play OK on your computer? Do you know how to check the log file and if that says anything? Are you running Windows or Mac for your media server?

Thanks for reply.
Yes, maybe the bit rate is a little to much for plex to handle of it needs to do a transcoding in real time!
I am running Plex server on Mac mini. Tried Plex client on both iPad and MacBook Pro. The player has the end point of movie at exactly 2 hrs. So far I have not rent any other movies that are longer than 2 hrs.
When watching in Safari from the Mac mini the full movie is available.

I think the issue is that I use the old types of mediacontainer that doesn’t set the duration of the movie correct and defaults all movies to 120minutes. I think I’ll rewrite the code to add support for URL services and proper mediaobjects, that will probably solve the problem.

Probably not something I’ll do in a jiffy, but I’ll definitely try to refactor that part.

I have the same issue - did you solve this?

I don't pay for Voddler currently  - can only see "free" movies.

Anyway - I get same issue  - Trailers playable - Movies "Opening stream" forever...

I tried some more to play movies, but I only get trailers working...

This is from the log when trying to play an movie...

I think one way around this(before drohr makes an update) is to set the 'Transcoder Default Duration' to a value > 120 min(which is default).

So in the settings for your Plex Media Server change:

Transcoder->Advanced Settings->Transcoder default duration

to something larger than 120.

(I haven't tried this myself though)

Could someone please provide a voddler log of a successful playback (not a trailer)?
