latest version everything. still have low to moderate volume on most movies. Tvshows too. Im viewing on tv, files are stored on dedicated nas server, not running anything but truenas, no windows, no linux, nothing. Comes directly from desktop nas machine to tv. volume low but viewable. just sucks when i want to watch something loud.
I have never figured out why plex volume output is so stupidly low.
It’s bad enough that the desktop plexamp app has the absolute worst UI ever, you can’t even consistently navigate to another section of the app in a consistent and logical manner, but playback volume from all content, movies, tv, and music from the webapp or from plexamp is so much lower in volume than it should be, as compared to playing from any other program such as foobar, vlc, wmp, or mpv.
I’ve seen another post where someone suggested turning off the normalize multichannel audio function in the settings, but that does absolutely nothing. The volume discrepancy is also present with mono, stereo, and multichannel content. The volume slider in windows is set to 100%, the volume slider in the lower right side of the plex player is 100%, but the actual volume output is clearly about 60% of what it actually SHOULD be.
It’s so maddening that I am really regretting my plex pass.
