I would really like to more over to Plex completely, whilst I currently use Plex & Kodi on different machines, but I have always had a volume issue where Plex seems to play everything VERY very quietly.
On my main home TV setup, using either an LG TV with Plex app, or Nvidia Shield with Plex app, I have to at least double the volume compared to Kodi (when accessing the same files). So when using Kodi (or in fact watching regular TV via Aerial/Satellite) the normal volume would be 10, but I need to increase to 20 at least when using Plex.
On my iPad/iPhone, again Plex is very very quiet. Kodi/Native iOS player etc can all play the same files at 50% volume, but with Plex, those same files have to be cranked up to 100%.
All files are .mp4 format, generally remuxed from .mkv.
I have looked many times over the last few years & often see people with similar issues, but never really found anyone who has found a solution that has worked for me.
The Plex Server is running on a Synology NAS DS418play, and I don’t think any transcoding is actually going on, as all my devices would play the .mp4 files natively (though I’m no expert so am not TOTALLY sure on this.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions that might help me with the problem?
Many thanks.
