I used to view Plex through the Chrome browser about 6 months ago and the volume was always very low. Someone suggested using the Plex Media Player instead and perhaps it was in my head but it did seem to help. Now many updates later it is the same exact issue I faced before. I have volume control on my speakers to the max and the volume control on my PC has to hit 14 before any sound is heard. 14! I have to put it to 100 just to get a fairly decent loud sound out of it. I go and play the exact same file using VLC and the volume is back to normal. In my guesstimation, I am losing about 50% which nothing to sneeze at. I have even taken to just watching the film on VLC when I am on the PC/server which kinda against the point of even setting up a Plex server. I noticed on my phone app the volume seems to be OK. This is a serious issue and maybe I am doing something wrong but it needs to be addressed ASAP.
This is desktop mode I guess since I am playing it on my PC using the Plex Media Player. But I also noticed after I wrote this that on the Roku app the volume is low on there as well.
Yes, the speakers I have has its own volume knob that I have at 100% and I control the volume using the Windows volume control. I actually found one of your other posts here and this seemed to bring the volume level to an acceptable level although still not as powerful as if I played the files directly in VLC:
But thanks as it is a much greater improvement. Now the volume on the Roku app. How can we fix that?
