VPN on router and now no remote access

I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the forums but am not able to figure this one out. I’ve recently installed Express VPN on my router (Asus RT-AC66U) and now have no remote access. When I try and enable remote access it turns green for a second then goes red, “Not available outside your network”. Any advice is appreciated, thanks

Is there a way for me to check to see if the Asus router has WRT? I’m not able to find anywhere to paste the script you recommended. Thanks
